Experience:
Mr. Fernandez graduated from the United States Merchant Marine Academy in 1981 with a bachelor's degree in nautical science. He holds a U.S. Coast Guard Unlimited Master's license and prior to attending law school sailed for seven years as a deck officer with various U.S. flag carriers. Mr. Fernandez has acquired considerable experience in major cargo casualty cases, including loss of containers overboard and damages sustained as a result of fires or explosions emanating from hazardous cargoes. His areas of expertise include cargo loss and damage, charter party disputes, collisions and commercial litigation.
