Experience:
A 1982 Salutatorian graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, Mr. Murnane has since 1986 handled a variety of maritime litigations and arbitrations, with a primary concentration in the areas of bulk and product tanker cargo loss and contamination cases, collisions, groundings, explosions and fires. He is admitted to the bars of the State of New York and the District of Columbia and has extensive experience in both trial and appellate level litigation as well as in arbitrations before the Society of Maritime Arbitrators, Inc., New York. He has authored articles and lectured on the topics of bills of lading, "Qualified Individual" liability, arbitration and casualty response. He has also prepared and advised on electronic commerce contracts for a major international carrier. Mr. Murnane holds a U.S. Coast Guard Unlimited Third Officer's license and has sailed aboard various types of oceangoing and inland marine vessels.
