Experience:
Mr. Russo was an Assistant District Attorney for Queens County from 1976 through 1984 and was an Executive Assistant District Attorney from 1984 through 1988. He was also an instructor at the National Institute of Trial Advocacy and a lecturer in trial advocacy at Hofstra University Law School. After leaving the District Attorney's office, Mr. Russo entered private practice in 1988 and quickly became one of the leading authorities in the United States on maritime criminal law, particularly as it relates to oil pollution violations. He was one of the lead counsel in defending the Master of the EXXON VALDEZ and has represented defendants and advised clients on environmental criminal law issues in numerous other cases throughout the United States. Mr. Russo's practice also includes personal injury defense, commercial litigation and administrative law.
