Benefits Summary

Medical Insurance: We offer three medical insurance options, one with Oxford Health Plans and two Health Net Plans; coverage is effective on the first day of employment; single, family and husband/wife coverage is available; the firm pays between 47% and 93% of the annual premium cost depending upon the plan and type of coverage chosen.
Pre-Tax Flexible Benefits Plan: FHM has set up a Section 125 Plan that permits employee contributions to medical insurance premiums to be paid with pre-tax dollars. This plan also allows for Health Care and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts. These accounts permit employees to use pre-tax dollars to pay for eligible health care and dependent care expenses.
Life Insurance: New York State Bar Association term life insurance; $100,000 policy for associate; $50,000 policy for spouse.
Accidental Death and Disability Insurance: $100,000 in coverage.
Group Travel and Accident Policy: $200,000 of additional AD&D insurance when traveling for business purposes.
Long-Term Disability Income Insurance: The benefit under this insurance is 60% of annual earnings; tax free; there is a 90 day waiting period, during which the employee is paid in full, by means of New York State short-term disability benefits and paid vacation/sick time.
401(k) Plan: Employees become eligible for the firm's 401(k) Plan after completing one year of service. The firm contributes annually an amount equal to 3% of the employee's total annual earnings. Employees may make voluntary contributions via payroll deductions of up to 60% of earnings, up to a maximum annual limit set by the IRS.
TransitCheks: Employees are eligible to take up to $1,380.00 per year of earnings in the form of tax-free TransitCheks for use on public transportation.
Maternity Leave: Eight weeks paid maternity leave, plus the employee may add to maternity leave up to twenty paid vacation days.
Holidays: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Day, Presidents' Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Thanksgiving Day and the day after, and Christmas Day.
Vacation: 20 vacation days, which increase to 25 after five years and to 30 after ten years.
